Brass Bed with cast iron frame and half canopy. Iron fram is designed to hold rope netting which in turn will hold a feather mattress. I have cut removable wooden pieces to allow a modern box frame to be used. All parts present and functional
Purchased by my parents in 1975 from USA antique dealer. Completely renovated in 1978. Dealer stated at time of purchase that it was produced in the US ca. 1918. At present it is set up without the half-canopy but all parts for same are included and functional
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be brass bed with iron frame and half canopy, manufactured in the early 20th century. Similar brass beds are being offered at auctions quite often, but the half canopy is rarely offered and this makes the difference. The estimate is based on the few auction results for similar brass beds.
