I have a Brazilian Amethyst Stone that I believe my Grandfather got in the 1980's during his Business Trips to Brazil. I have had it in my possession for years and would love to have it appraised and sell to someone who could appreciate it more than i do

Amethyst Geode
Excavation: believed to be South America, Brazil
Amethyst geodes consist of an outer layer of basalt, a middle layer of calcite, and a hollow layer of primarily amethyst blocks. This general formation is known as a cathedral style and appears to have light violet color with well defined terminations along with some quartz terminations. Amethyst is a type of quartz that develops its purple color from background radiation. The geode display has finely polished edges with a back that has been been coated with cement to give a cleaner appearance.
Overall measurements: 10" x 4", no weight given. From images the example appears to be in excellent condition. Information on the exact excavation source could increase the fair market value estimate.
