Bunga bunga ku (My Flowers)
Another painting by Affandi, oil on canvas dated 1980. Affandi is a well known painter from Jogja in Indonesia and died in 1990.Its painted in abstract form with bold and colorful lines and strokes.Flowers are in abundence in rural areas in Java snd brings joys to poor folks and makes a great theme for happiness in life. The painting carries the usual AF initial with 1980 as tyear of the work.The piece measures about 140cm x110cm.
The painting was owned by a friend of Affandi from central Java and was later sold to Mr Herru Prayogo a dealer artist in Bandung from whom i bought this painting and brought to Malaysia. The canvas is still in good condition and carries a new wooden frame.

To assign an estimate of value for this piece I looked specifically at floral paintings by Affandi which were of the same relative size. These are not as common in the secondary market as his landscape and portrait scenes and are even less common than the artist's painting of sunflowers which are seen on average of once a year.
