Three-dimensional square metal abstract sculptures for wall mounting. For each, the outer square (the "frame") appears to be made of stainless steel and is 16" tall x 16 " wide x 2" deep. The inner square (the "image") is 8" tall x 8" wide x 1" deep and consist of elements that appear to be made of stainless steel or perhaps nickel (silver metal), copper, and possibly brass (gold metal). Three of the sculptures have elements that extend forward 1", 2" and 2.25" beyond the front face of the sculptures. On the back of each sculpture, there are 2 vertical rods that appear to be made of brass (gold in color) that are situated 3" either side of the center and extend 1.5" both above the top edge and below the bottom edge of each sculpture. One of the sculptures is signed C. Jeré 1996 in black ink.
I bought these sculptures as a set from an online supplier of home decor items. I think I ordered them in 2002. I never removed the protective plastic covering until just recently on one of them, but only partially, to show the color of the metal beneath. My intention was to photograph them and put them up for sale on eBay. I did not realize they were C. Jeré when I bought them, or even who/what C. Jeré was until I recently researched the signature that's on one of the pieces.
Dear Anderson Clark – What a great eye you have! These are designed by Curtis Jere. Recently a pair from the same series (one being a match to one of your pair) were offered at auction and sold for $125USD.
Once in a gallery, expect to see these priced the range of two to three times $125USD. Thank you for thinking time to share these and do let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
Sincerely,
Erin-Marie
