Made of wrought iron in Ireland brought to America in 1879 by my grandfather. Approximately 2 fee high as 7 candel holders.
Pass on from my grandparents
This is a tall antique 19th century, Victorian era 7-arm metal candelabra that has been converted to electric. This is actually made of cast, or molded, iron and not wrought iron. Wrought iron is bent, hammered and twisted into shape, this was put in a mold and the figural/sculptural form was cast. The overall design aesthetic is realist figural and inspired by German Black Forest wood carvings. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables.
The gold rod was added after the they moved to the states
Their farm had no electricity. It can easily be removed.
I don't see any foundry marks
Thanks
