carnelian intaglio

Description

I have a carnelian agate intaglio that is said to belong to John Alden, my distant ancestor, who came over on the mayflower as a pilgrim in 1620. It looks like it was not a ring but attached to something unknown. I don't know who was depicted in the carving.
