The Mattel Celebration Barbie 2000 (Special 2000 Edition) marked the transition into a new millennium and a new direction for Barbie's long-running holiday collector line. While it is often confused with the 1999 Millennium Princess Barbie, the Celebration Barbie was actually the first holiday-themed Barbie of the 21st century.

Released in 2000, Celebration Barbie was designed to celebrate both the holiday season and the dawn of the 21st century. The white ornament she carries is emblazoned with the number "2000," making her one of the most recognizable millennium-themed Barbie dolls.

The doll's appearance was intended to evoke elegance and optimism for the new century: a metallic gold and ivory ball gown with glittering gold bodice and white faux-fur stole, a gold crown and full taffeta underskirt. The lavish gold color palette symbolized celebration, prosperity, and the excitement surrounding the year 2000.

Although sold as a Special Edition Collector Doll, it was widely available through department stores, toy retailers, and gift shops. Mattel marketed it successfully appealed to Barbie collectors, parents and grandparents buying holiday gifts and consumers looking for millennium keepsakes.

I've found several MIB (mint in the box) 2000 Celebration Barbies listed for sale online, for prices ranging from $50-60. When this is offered at auction, what one would consider the secondary market, it rarely exceeds $25.

If you're looking to sell this privately, I would suggest listing it at between $50 and $60 so as not to risk underselling it but also to be competitive with other current sellers.
