Real bovine leather upholstery. Original found, stable, good, usable condition. Special and comfortable. The appraised works are two Eames LCWs (Lounge Chair Wood) consisting of moulded plywood with wood veneer (possibly ash or walnut), calfskin seats and chair backs. The LCW was first introduced in 1946 and designed by Charles and Rey Eames for Herman Miller. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction.The appraised works' size, materials and condition (based on photographs provided) were taken into consideration when determining the estimate. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
