What does this mean?

Dear Brendan,

This ia also a Japanese vase or ginger jar. Made in Japan in first half 20th century. It is inspired by the famous famille noir vases from China but you cannot call the Japanese vases Famille noir. Value is not so high. It is stil quite common and not old enough to really make a good price..
