Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a 20th century chinese lacquer box with brass lock, marked at the base ????天泉造.
The character´s are rubber printed and very much blotched, the last characters might refer to a town and "made". Rubber stamps have been used since the late 19th century, but are still common today. The wear at the underside would indicate that the lacquer box has been around for a while, possibly since the first half of the 20th century. Similar boxes have sold within the price range listed, "asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
