What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a japanese transfer printed plated, decorated with dragons chasing a flaming pearl. The transfer printing technique was invented in Great Britain in the late 18th century and introduced to Japan approximately one hundred years later. You will notice on the plate in your possession where the print is torn or overlaps. The estimate is based on similar plates offered or sold at auction.
