Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Anything made in China before 1949 is considered a "cultural relic" and cannot be taken out of the country without a government seal and/or an officially chopped receipt. This has the red wax Jianding seal, which were issued from around 1949 and are still being put on any old looking porcelain which are to be allowed to be exported out of China. For practical purposes, when applying these exports permits to pieces no pieces older then 100 years gets this seal, making it possible to date to to having been made between 1849 and 1949.
