I think it's gilded wood, some age to piece so some of the paintwork is damaged and somewhat faded. Parts still vivid. There are signatures on reverse of piece that are faded but complete.

Hello, this item is a Chinese painted and gilded wooden deity figure, standing approximately 23 cm in height and weighing around 655 grams. Based on the style, iconography, and traces of polychromy and gilding, it appears to represent a Daoist or folk deity, possibly a regional protective figure or wealth god, seated in a formal posture. The red pigment on the face and gold leaf detailing are typical of Chinese temple statuary from the Qing dynasty period (late 18th to early 20th century), though smaller household shrine figures continued to be made into the early Republican era. The visible wear, paint loss, and surface oxidation are consistent with natural aging rather than artificial distressing, and the handwritten or stamped marks on the base suggest either a temple inventory inscription or workshop signature.
In terms of market value, small Chinese polychrome and gilded wood statues from the late Qing period generally range between $300 and $1,200 USD, depending on condition, subject matter, and provenance.
