Buffet Crampon is a long‐established French clarinet and woodwind instrument manufacturer, well known for high‐quality professional clarinets. The B46 clarinet appears in used-instrument listings as a clarinet made for the student/ intermediate player population rather than top-professionals.

Other B46 instruments made in the late 1970s to early 1980s have sold at auction for between $500 and $700, though refurbished ones can retail for higher prices.
