Lithography "orange and black" 1977 edition 60/100, perfect condition archival framed , image 73 x 57 cm
Gifted to me in 2006, bought online from print dealer
Dear Ron,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a lithograph on paper with the measurements of 73 x 57 cm. The print has the title "Orange and Black" and is signed by hand by the artist Cleve GRAY (1918-2004). It has the edition 60/100 and is dated 1977.
Sadly no additional information for an artist with this name fitting in style and motif is given by reference books and databases.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 500 to 1.000 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George

Dear Ron,
We adapt our estimations to actual and reached auction results of the last years. This process mirrors a comparative value and mirrors an actual market situation. This means also that an object should not just be adapted to the highest hammer prices and you also have to see the mid-range and low range hammer prices to define an adequate estimate.
With kind regards,
George
