Colored etching Rustic Employment with tax & lot numbers
Colored etching by Frances Whitley Thoruvene script.
This is an antique, early 19th century, Victorian era, hand tinted etching or print from entitled Rustic Employment. The image attached here is not in-focus enough to to show the scope of the action depicted. The small print is stated to be 'Wheatley Pina', which is for Francis Wheatley (1747 - 1801), R.A., or Royal Academician and Thouvenin Sculpt for French engraver, Jean Thouvenin (1765-1828). The image is based on a painting by Francis Wheatley which was rendered in to a print image by Jean Thouvenin that could be published in multiples. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
