Hi, I purchased this piece from an elderly lady about 20yrs ago. At that time she told me she about it 50yrs earlier as a wedding gift to her husband. She said she paid $800 for it. I’m not sure if there is a signature on the bottom because of the way it is framed. The outer part of the frame is wooden with mirrored glass. I was once told that the framing itself was done expensively as it is “triple matted”?? There is a stamp on the back that says “Country Millhouse”…Chicago Illinois. The frame is 28” wide X 40” Tall…what shows of the picture (again because of the way it’s framed) the measurements of what is showing is 19 1/2” wide X 27 1/2” tall. I don’t know if it’s worth anything at all but if it is I would like to know is all. I thank you in advance for any help you could give me. Regards

Dear Maggie,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. The presented object appears to be a photograph on paper with the measurements of 40 x 28 inches including the frame. The photo depicts a watermill and a river and is stamped on the reverse side "Country Millhouse" "Hoyne Industries Chicago". This photo was made as an decoartion object.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 30 to 60 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
