They are about 1 year old and we only used them for about 6 months. They are currently wrapped and stored in our garage. We just want to give them away and write it off so just need a rough appraisal for our tax records. We bought them from a rug dealer in San Francisco.
Two creme rugs: 9' W x 12'6 L and the other is 12'6 W x 12'6 L with 1/4" Durahold pad. Paid: $27,547 for both.
Hello, this item is a pair of contemporary custom sized luxury rugs in a cream palette, produced within the last two years for a private residential interior. The rugs feature a modern geometric border motif and a low profile woven construction consistent with high end bespoke rug production rather than traditional hand knotted antique carpets. The presence of the Roshni Rugs label confirms manufacture by a contemporary rug studio specializing in custom designs for the American interior design market, particularly California based clients. The materials appear to be high quality wool or a wool blend, selected for durability and a refined neutral appearance, and the sizes, approximately 9 by 12.5 feet and 12.5 by 12.5 feet, indicate they were commissioned to fit specific rooms rather than produced as standard retail sizes.
The condition is excellent, with very limited use over approximately six months and no visible staining, wear patterns, or edge damage visible in the images provided. As recent custom rugs, they do not benefit from age related collectability and should be valued based on secondary market replacement and resale norms rather than original retail price. Custom rugs typically experience significant depreciation once installed, even when lightly used. Comparable contemporary custom wool rugs of similar quality and size generally resell or appraise for tax and donation purposes at approximately 30 to 45 percent of original retail cost. Based on the original combined purchase price of 27,547 USD, a realistic current fair market value for the pair is approximately 9,000 to 12,000 USD.
