This is an decorative ware by Royal Staffordshire of England. It is a molded bone china basket with hand formed flowers. Bone china from England differs from porcelain in that it is not made with kaolin and petuntse clays. The formed flower theme is based on Dresden wares from Germany. Though the ark states 1801, this piece dates to just about 1930 - 1950. Technically, Royal Staffordshire was not established until 1889; they used 1801 as the 'established' date for that is when the pottery plant used by them, Minerva Works, was started. The estimate is based on actual recent past auction sales.
