Hi Annie,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
H. T. Cushman Manufacturing Company’s “Cushman Colonial Creations” is one of the most recognizable—and historically revealing—lines of American 20th-century furniture. The line was introduced in 1933, in the middle of the Great Depression, when Cushman needed a new direction. The line tapped into the booming Colonial Revival movement and was intended to appeal to American consumers craving tradition, stability, and “early American” identity.
As important as these were to the furniture market at the time, they are not as sought after as they once were, with case pieces (chests and bookcases) typically selling for between $50 and $200 and chairs bringing less.
If this pair of chairs were to come to auction, I would expect an auctioneer to estimate them at $20-30 per chair, or $40-60 for the pair.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A pair of near antique Colonial Revival style walnut ladderback side chairs

Each with sausage-turned sides, arched and shaped splats, over a shaped saddle seat on turnout splayed legs joined by an H-stretcher.
Overall height: 33 inches
CONDITION: these appear to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: unknown
$20-30 per chair or $40-60 for the pair*
