Silver cutlery for 6. Wooden box. Missing one teaspoon.
Passed down from about 1920s?
Is it possible that you could add some close-up photos of the silvermarks on the back of the spoons and forks? Kind regards Sabrina, Mearto
Thank you for the photograph unfortunately it is very hard to read the mark. Assuming the flatware is either silver or sterlingsilver the estimate for the set including the box in good condition will be 300-500 USD, however if it is silverplated the estimate will be much lower.
The big spoon has:
Grosvenor Plate E.P.N.S. A1
The box has a seal: VINER & HALL Sheffield Hallmark Does this help?
Trish
Thank you again for your reply. Yes EPNS is short for Electroplated new silver and means that it is silverplated metal and not solidt silver. The estimate will therefore be 150-200 USD for the set.
Hi Sabrina, I have added a photo of Trishthe back of a fork. I can't read it!
