The stone is a navy blue and looks black unless it is held up in the light. It has the image of Hernando de Soto engaged. It was a ring my Mother had especially made for my Father. To my knowledge the ring is 10K gold.
This is a ring my Mother had made for my Father. It has only been in our family only and has never been on exhibit.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a lovely signet ring. Signet rings are in vogue at the moment and are offered at auction fairly regularly.
From the images provided, I would say the stone is paste or glass, the wear of the stone indicates it is soften than a sapphire or a similar material.
I believe this ring could achieve within the estimate, however, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the ring.
Do let me know if you have any additional questions. Many thanks!
What is the procedure to put this ring in an auction?
Can you please give me the steps to put the ring in an auction?
Hello Gretchen,
Please accept my apologies for the delay in getting back to you, I have been away.
I would suggest going to your local auction house and entering it into auction that way. If you don't know who your local auctioneer is, I would suggest googling to see who is nearest, some auction houses accept entries via post.
I hope this is of some help!
Thank you for your sensitivity but I am in the process of downsizing. What is the procedure to put it in an auction?
