Walking cane - dagger cane. Length 36 inches, handle is 5 inches (appears ivory with some cracks) the blade is 14 inches with some etching. The blade has some pitting. The wood appears to be cane, not hardwood.
I purchased from Scott's Antiques in Atlanta GA during the mid 1990's.
This is an antique, late 19th century, Continental walking stick or cane with a hidden long serpentine form damascened poker or dagger. The wood appears to be cane and the the handle has a molded ivorine bust of a woman with helmet, possibly a representation of the Goddess, Athena. The cap is appears to be sterling or plated silver. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
