I acquired this from my housemother in college (1961) She said that when she was in the service with her husband, they had a loft that they rented out to an artist who said he was a student of Dali (not sure if just copying the style) He gave her the painting--I think early 50's The canvas was damaged from "being thrown in with other objects during moves" I had the painting restored. A few of the chunks in the crackled vase had broken off. I had that and a few holes repaired. I have researched the painter's signature to no avail. It is oil on canvas 15 1/2 X 12
I answered that in previous section
Dear Charlotte,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with measurements of 15 1/2 x 12 inches. The painting depicts a surrealistic motif with a desert landscape with a vase and pipes shown. This painting was not signed and is sadly not connected in the quality of the depiction and style with the paintings of Salvador Dali. It was made in the second half of the 20th century by an unknown artist. The painting is signed and monogrammed with the name "M. Ikekara". Sadly no further information regarding the biography of this artist is mentioned in reference books or similar databases.
Works by this artist were recently not offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 80 to 150 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg

Dear Charlotte,
Thank you for the second photo. Sadly this image is still blurred. Is it possible that you upload a focused close-up image of the signature to identify the artist? Thank you very much.
With kind regards,
Georg
