Dear Carl,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a Danish Krag–Jørgensen Gevær M/89 Rifle with an 8mm x 58mmR catridge. This rifle was adopted in 1889 by the Danish Army to replace the M 1867 Rolling Block rifle. This rifle was made in the year 1902 in Copenhagen and is stamped "GEVÆRFABRIKEN KJØBENHAVN" for the Danish Army. The Model 1889 was also adopted by Springfield for the US Army. This system and design for the M/89 rifle was invented in the year 1886 by Captain Ole Herman Johannes Krag of the Danish Army and Erik Jørgensen, a Danish gunsmith
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 300 to 500 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
