Dental Cabinet made 1919 by company Mahogany Dental Company. Condition - has some small chips on front veneer Not sure of material it’s made of
12x35x59 inches
Hi Barry,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I'm not finding much online for a "Mahogany Dental Company" but HAVE found several virtually identical cabinets, made of mahogany, attributed to an American Cabinet Company, which is also a bit ambiguous with several small (family-owned?) companies having that name rather than one large big one.
These cabinets usually sell at auction for between $300 and $600 and are typically dated to the 1920s (I don't see where this is dated 1919 but have given this the benefit of the doubt as it doesn't impact the value with a date that early).
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique American mahogany dentil cabinet
unattributed maker, possibly an American Cabinet Company (Temecula, CA, or New England), 1919-1920s
The raised backsplash fitted with a frosted glass hinged fold-down door over a chamfered mirror plate, over a white marble top, the case fitted with numerous shallow short drawers and a cabinet door, all on a box base. With a paper label inside.
Height: 59 inches; width: 35 inches; depth: 12 inches
CONDITION: This appears to be in good condition.
PROVENANCE: Acquired at a garage/yard sale
$300-600*
