White face, mother of pearl on black laquer
Mother was an interior designer in California, had many rich clients. This was for a client but was not used and she kept it in her collection.
This is an antique, 19th century, Victorian era, about 1870 - 1880, black lacquer and abalone inlay papier mache wall clock. The enameled clock face has the name Diot on it and the location of A Sennecey-le-Grand in Bourgogne, France. There are only references to a Parisian clockmaker firm of Diot et Gaboy. A clockmaker or firm by this name in Sennecey-le-Grand is not listed. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
It will take me a couple of days, I will send the information you requested.
Any time is fine, no rush
Backside covering clock works is 16 x 16 x 3 and the front face is 19 1/2 x 19 1/2
What is the size of this and also please add a photo of the sides and backside? If the clockworks are accessible from the backside, also check the works for any maker marks too.
