What does this mean?

Hi Chris,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

Ditz Designs was founded by Joyce Ditz—originally a nurse—who turned her hobby into a flourishing business based in Ohio. Production remains hand-constructed in the USA. The company is best known for its heirloom-quality Father Christmas (Saint Nick) figures in three sizes—approximately 29″ (small), 36″ (“Opa”), and 57″ (large).

Santas are usually built on a wooden frame, with plush faux fur, microfiber clothing, faux wool accents, fiberfill and resin or PVC parts and integrated with pre-lit trees.

This edition has been retired. While comparable new models are currently retailing for about $1,500, the nostalgia factor for this warrants a fair-market value of $1,500-2,500.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Limited Edition Platinum Exposure Father Christmas Santa
made circa 2012.
Overall height: 72 inches; Santa: 60 inches
CONDITION: With replaced light string.
PROVENANCE: Original owner, purchased in 2012.
$1,500-2,500*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.

Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.
