Hi Tina,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Danbury Mint dolls were part of a wide array of collectible products made by the Danbury Mint, a division of MBI, Inc. (a subsidiary of Glendinning Companies). The Danbury Mint started in 1969 in Connecticut and became known for selling high-quality, limited-edition collectibles—plates, coins, jewelry, figurines, and also dolls—mainly marketed via mail-order catalogs and later online. Danbury Mint dolls were especially popular from the 1980s through the 2000s, though this appears to be an earlier example. Most Danbury mint dolls that come to auction today bring very nominal prices - less than $30.
“Home Collectibles Clubs” dolls were part of the large wave of subscription-based collectible doll series sold primarily through mail order in the 1980s and 1990s. They’re a bit less documented than brands like Danbury Mint or Franklin Mint though there are a vast number that survive. As a result, they also bring comparatively low prices - usually $20 or less.
