12 in long, steel revolver, civil war era, covered in filigree, black handle.

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry, and I apologize for the delay. This is a pin-fire Lefaucheaux revolver made in the late 1800s by the Auguste Francotte Company in Liege, Belgium. This design was licensed to Francotte, and they were a prolific producer of these guns at that time. This example is excellently engraved, and is in very good condition. The original finish is worn, and the gun is covered in a stable grey patina. The grips are still a rich color, and the checkering is sharp. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 2,700-2,900 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.
