In “GranbyBlack” , this framed (is it a lithograph?) and signed early print of Pablo Picasso’s “Pour Robie” was purchased in the late 1950’s by my father in New York I believe.
10 5/8 by 12 7/8 inches tall
Hello, this item is a framed reproduction of a Pablo Picasso drawing titled Pour Robie, dating from the 1950s. The style is consistent with Picasso’s minimalist line portraits, particularly from his later period when he explored simplified facial studies and dedicated numerous works “pour” friends and acquaintances. Based on the available images, this appears to be a printed reproduction, not an original lithograph or drawing—likely produced for broad distribution or as a post-war collector’s edition. The signature visible at the bottom is printed, not hand-signed.
Although charming and stylistically aligned with Picasso’s known work, this version does not appear to be an original, limited-edition lithograph or one of his signed prints. These open-edition reproductions, often sold through museums or mid-century galleries, typically hold modest market value.
