EJ D Bodley was the son of Edward Fisher Bodley and in 1875 EJD Bodley took it over until they went bankrupt in 1892 He was associated with Hill Top Works The platter is stamped on the bottom and the word Ivory RG NO 79844 It is trimmed with a blue patterned around the edges and the inside has brown delicate flowers It is in great condition with no chips or cracks or signs of wear

This rectangular serving platter was made by E.J.D. Bodley of Burslem, likely dating from the late 19th century. The platter features a white base with an all-over floral pattern in black, and a blue decorative border. E.J.D. Bodley operated the Hill Pottery (later the Crown Works) in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, from 1875 to 1892. The company was known for producing china and earthenware, often drawing inspiration from the Aesthetic Movement with nature-inspired motifs and subtle color.
Similar examples that have come to auction have brought prices ranging from $200-300; the ruffled edge and profusely decorated all-over pattern distinguish and elevate this from other platters.
