Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Based on the photographs and information provided, the item being appraised is an Elvis Presley Las Vegas Summer Festival International Hotel Menu. The hotel itself was the staging ground for Presley's comeback tour in August 1970, and the menu is from the hotel's Showroom Internationale. The menu's condition appears fine, with no staining or tears but a crease is noted on the cover.
The market for Elvis memorabilia is unfortunately softening in recent years for a couple of reasons. First, many of the King's fans are aging out of the collector's market. Second, the market has been flooded for years by Elvis's estate licensing and producing new items. Rarer pieces like this (produced and acquired during Presley's lifetime) however are still in demand, although arguably less now than in the past. It is to be noted that more recent auctions of similar Presley memorabilia have been trending below appraisal estimates, further indicating a downturn in the market.
In 2010 a copy of a similar menu but in slightly better condition (as part of a collection along with two additional but arguably less significant pieces of memorabilia) sold by Heritage Auctions for a total of $597.50. Considering all factors noted, Fair Market Value for this item (a pre-auction estimate) would be estimated at $300 to $400.
