These are two original etchings, also known as, eau-forte in French, by the artist and engraver, Charles Pinet (1867-1932) featuring relisgious architectural landmarks. There are platemarks, or indents in the paper around the image, indicating his original plates were used to make the print, however these are not signed by hand in the margin nor are they numbered limited editions. The estimate is for one print (multiply by 2 for the total estimate sale value) and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
IS THERE ANY significance TO THE NUMBER IN THE RIGHT HAND CORNER
The numbers may be annotated from book pages, otherwise known as plate numbers, however these numbers do not impact value in any way.
THANK YOU FOR GETTING BACK TO ME SO QUICKLY
You are very welcome
Please add clear, in-focus images, especially of the small print at the bottom margins. The photos here are too blurry and out of focus to use for a proper assessment.
