This is a high quality full pile 100% wool face rug made in India and distributed by Ethan Allen. A beautiful Persian design, originating from the village of Sarouk, that will transform any space. The warm color combination will be easily matched to many aesthetic. Although the rug is clean and in overall very good condition, it has slight damage on one corner in the form of dotted wear. (It is so little, that I'm not able to get a good picture to show it.) I purchased this rug directly from Ethan Allen about 20 years ago.
93 1/2 inches width and 123 1/2 inches in length including fringe
Hello, this item is a large Ethan Allen handmade Sarouk-style wool area rug in salmon and ivory tones, produced in India for Ethan Allen retail distribution, most likely dating to the late 1990s or early 2000s. Measuring approximately 93.5 by 123.5 inches including fringe, the rug features a Persian-inspired Sarouk floral layout with dense full wool pile, central medallion elements, and a wide scrolling border. These rugs were factory-commissioned decorative pieces rather than traditional Iranian Sarouk carpets, made for the Western home furnishings market using hand-tufted or hand-knotted construction with commercial-grade wool. The visible Ethan Allen label confirms retail provenance. Condition appears overall very good, with even pile, strong color retention, intact borders, and only minor localized dotted wear to one corner, which is consistent with normal use over time and does not affect structural integrity.
From a market perspective, Ethan Allen handmade wool rugs of this size and quality do not carry collectible antique value and trade strictly as branded decorative carpets on the secondary market. Comparable Ethan Allen Sarouk-style rugs in the eight by ten to nine by twelve foot range typically sell between USD 400 and USD 900 depending on condition and presentation, with private resale platforms often landing toward the middle of that range. Given the large size, clean appearance, and only minor corner wear, a realistic current resale value for this rug would be USD 600 to USD 900 under standard secondary-market conditions.
