What does this mean?

These are turn of the 19th/20th Renaissance Revival/Tudor Revival oak arm chairs with reticulated backs and woven rush seats. The chair backs have an upside down palmette design and a flat panel backside The legs are done in a cup and cover design. Although the legs appear hand carved, these are pressed carved and the backs were likely machine or pressed carved. These tyoes of chairs were produced in both America and the UK and were primarily used for dining sets. The estimate is for the pair together and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
