85 pieces of British sterling flatware. Fiddle thread & shell. 12 dinner knives, 12 luncheon knives, 12 large spoons (9 inches) 12 teaspoons (6 inch), 12 dinner forks (8 inch), 12 luncheon forks (7 inch), 12 spoons (7.5 inch), 1 butter knife. Mixed makers and years. Mostly Victorian, mostly makers GA & WE. Knives (dinner & luncheon) from Sheffield 1970s. All others from London (Victorian). Have photos of all pieces with information on each piece indicating year, maker and location.

It is a beautiful flatware set. Such antique victorian silver flatware sets are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The design of the handles are very classic of the period it was made. The shell pattern has been popular with many different silversmiths and comes in many variations and is a lovely and elegant design. The flatware appears to be without any inscriptions or engravings which is good unless it is royal inscriptions. The flatware also looks quite heavy which is often the case with English flatware. It is unusual to see 12 of each item including knives which means that this particular set of flatware is certain to obtain a lot of attention from both dealers and collectors if it were to come up for auction. This also means that the selling price may be even higher than the presumed estimate.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the flatware has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the wonderful flatware set. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
