Old flintlock pistol possible 18th or 19th century
It was a gift from my Dad
Dear Marco,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload close-up images of any markings, proofs, or names on this pistol? There is often information on the top of the barrel.
Thanks,
Bo Stuck

Hello Bo stuck, can I please get an update on the value of my flintlock pistol? Thank you
Hello and my apologies for the delay. This is a 19th century percussion cap pistol. Based on the proof marks, the pistol was made in Belgium. It has a damascus steel barrel, and case-hardened lock assembly. The trigger guard and pommel appear to be made of nickel-silver, and the small inlay appears to be brass. The pistol is in excellent condition, with most of its original finish present. It does not exhibit any active corrosion or significant damage. Based on the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimate is 2,300-2,500 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.

Thank you! Would you recommend an Auction House or any one interested in purchasing this pistol? Thanks
Rock Island auction company would be a good place to start. And your piece should be on our marketplace so you may get offers from individuals!
