My husband and I inherited many paintings from his parents who are in their 90's. They have been in their home until they were forced to downsize due to their ages and moved to a small apartment and could not hang them.

The presented object appears to be a mid-sized painting made in oil paint on canvas with the measurements of 35 x 38 1/2 inches. The painting depicts a flower market in a typical Dutch city. We see a "Gracht" or canal transporting ships with Dutch flags and in the background houses and a church. The motif itself refers to the tradition of flower trade and especially the role of the tulip for the Neatherlands. The painting is signed with the name "H. Tripmaker" and this piece was made by Heino TRIPMAKER (1931-1985). His full name is Heino Dietrich Gert Gustav Tripmacker and this German artist mainly depicted typical Dutch scenes like this flower market which he painted numerous times.
