The composition depicts a village scene with fields in triangular shapes, topped with houses and figures engaged in every day life. The work is signed "Nelson" to the lower right. There are multiple Haitian Folk Artists named Nelson, but we were unable to match the signature to any of the listed artists. The painting measures 15 x 23 inches. From the images provided, the work is in Fair condition with stretcher marks to the margins, craquelure and impact crackle throughout, marks and losses throughout, and a minor puncture to the right margin.
Without an artist attribution, the Fair Market Value is estimated based on general sales trends of Haitian Folk Art of a similar age.
