When stood upright, eyes open device (Pat. No. 2,570,740) attached beneath the dress makes ticking “Heartbeat” sound. 8” tall, plastic doll with moving eyes, head and arms. Black, curly mohair hair. Dress is made of various fabrics and lace.
I have only been able to find two related eBay listings. The first is for a paper advertisement promoting the debut of the 24-country miniature character doll line at the 1954 American Toy Fair at Hotel McAlpin (Room 737) in New York City. The other is a previous eBay listing for the same exact item, which I know because the listing images show the box with the same numbers written in pencil on the side of the box. It appears to read “1338/1395” so it could be limited edition or a convention exclusive.
