12 6"×6" framed ceramic tiles top left one cracked, others crackled. Back says Plateelbaker Amsterdam. Depicts courtyard scene with houses and church. Blue and white. I was told it came around the horn to Oregon

The tradition of using glazed and fired tiles to create pictures is a long and storied one in the Netherlands; the small name in the lower left corner of the front - Distel Koek Koek - may reference the artisan working at the Plateelbakkerij Amsterdam or "Pottery Factory Amsterdam" in the early 20th century (c. 1900s–1920s).
Other pictures signed "Distel" of this size and vintage usually bring between $300 and $600 at auction.

CONDITION: Minor craquelure throughout, with a diagonal crack in the upper left corner of the upper left tile.
