Assuming this is silk embroidery but not 100% sure. There is some sort of Japanese writing/figure in the top right corner. Dimensions of frame (18 in. wide x 21 in. tall). Dimensions of art (13 in. wide x 13 in. tall)
My late father traveled a good deal in Japan during the early 1980's. Likely a gift or purchase.
