Lithograph 16 3/8 × 22 1/8 in signed lower right
Acquired February 2021 from Black River Auction House
Dear Robert,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The example you referenced on LiveAuctioneers that brought $15,000 had good provenance and exhibition history that undoubtedly drove the price up. Of the approximately 10 other examples of this print that have sold at auction in the last 15 years, $8,000-12,000 is the range most of them are selling for.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Thomas Hart Benton (American, 1889-1975)

Because your item has a fair market value of at least $5000 and you indicated an interest in selling it, one of our representatives will reach out by email in the next day or two to provide some information on options for consignment and sale. If you have any questions in the meantime, or if you have additional items to appraise, please let me know.
What information do you need?
Robert
Is there an insurance value that you can add please
Mearto doesn't provide insurance values but our software is set up to calculate an insurance value (instead of a suggested asking price) if you indicate that this is NOT for sale. Once you mark it as "for sale, it converts that to an asking price. Once you've changed the status, I'm happy to make sure that value is properly reflected.
Insurance value issue taken care of
Thanks for confirming.
