Hi Donald,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
We often ask for - and prepare - a more carefully itemized listing as large service pieces will bring more than smaller pieces; without that, the value is a bit broader than typical. If you can provide an itemized listing detailing which / how many pieces you have, I can update this further but this should give you an idea of what the set is worth at auction.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique 146-piece Noritake parcel gilt part dinner service
Chaumont pattern, made in Japan, bearing Morimura 'M' mark in use from 1911-1921
With single gilt detailing, marked underneath, comprising plates, bowls, cups, saucers and service pieces.
CONDITION: client reports this has been packed away and may never have been used.
PROVENANCE: inherited from aunt, as a wedding gift in 1956
$500-800*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
