The man who owned this passed away and his family donated it to the library that I work for. I do not know his name, but they did tell me that he purchased most of his art from a gallery in the southwest that was closing down. The only other thing I have is the letter that was inside the case.
Hello Kimberly,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. The item presented appears to be an offset lithograph after a painting by Salvador Dalí (Spanish; 1904 – 1989) titled "Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea Which at Eighteen Metres Becomes the Portrait of Abraham Lincoln" also known as "Lincoln in Dalivision." The painting was composed in 1975 and is now held in the collection of Dalí Theatre and Museum, Figueres, Spain.
This print appears to be printed and published by Cass Investment Art Publishing in 1980 and is editioned "E.A. 79 / 250" to the lower margin. Something to note about this print is that it was published after an original work and was published without Dalí's permission. This indicates that the print has a questionable authenticity. I would encourage you to seek full authenticity of the object before selling it.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of limited edition offset lithographs of this image, published "after Dalí." Thank you and please take care.
