This is a rug which I inherited from my father. I remember him saying that he ordered it special after a vacation in Europe. There isn't a label on the rug. I wish I could tell you definitely what it's made of, but my guess is wool with cotton tassels.

This tribal Oushak carpet was made in Oushak (or Uşak), a town in western Turkey famous for producing high-quality rugs since the Ottoman Empire. The geometric patterns and palette are both characteristic of rugs from this area that were made in the mid 20th Century.
When rugs of this size, style and condition come to auction, they usually sell for between $700 and $1,000.

In pastel colors of teal and salmon, centering a stylized medallion on a salmon ground within geometric ends, geometric borders, cream-colored selvedges.

CONDITION: This rug appears to be in good condition; value assumes no tears, odors, stains or repairs.
