This is an oil painting of a portrait of a king or priest - subject unknown - with the signature of Crionas in the bottom left corner. Unsure of the origin of the original origin other than it looks like it was purchased a long time ago at Orrills Auction house in LA. It was part of wealthy uncle's collection.

Hello Alana,
Thank you very much for submitting your item for an appraisal and for your patience.
The presented object appears to be an oil on canvas portrait of a religious figure, most likely an Orthodox priest. It measures approximately 9 x 12 inches, is framed and looks to be in good condition. It is signed "George Crionas" at the bottom left corner of the composition.
I believe that it can be attributed to the artist George Crionas (American, 1925-2004) who is known primarily for his paintings of clowns (a popular theme in the 1960s, when the piece was likely purchased) and is also known to have depicted some religious figures like in this work: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/63616555_roger-etienne-french-b1922-encre-rouge
Unfortunately, the demand for Crionas' work is not particularly strong today, so I would estimate the current fair market value of your painting at $100 to 200, though retail and asking prices may vary.
Thank you again and please let me know if you have any questions in the comments section below. Have a great day!
Kind regards,
Anne
