American Artist 1883-1953 Best know for painting those Santa Claus Coca Cola Ads in the 1950s. 29"x39.5" Framed, Oil on Canvas, Some crazing of the paint.. But color still bold and rich. Nothing interesting on the back side of the piece... Very good overall condition.
I am a full time for 5+ years picker and not knowledgeable in art. The signature looks good on this one from what I could find online... This was in a home that the people live in for 40+ years... It was in a low light setting.. I can tell it was NOT moved around a lot. Sorry NO detailed provenance on this piece.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an oil on canvas painting by George Hinke ( 1883-1953) depicting a part of the Grand Canyon. The painting was most likely done on the basis of a photo. Both painting style and signature are well in the style of George Hinke. As you have already noticed, the artist is best known for the paintings he created for advertising, especially the Santa Claus motifs sold for up to 95,000 USD. The absence of Santa Claus and Coca Cola limits the estimate, but the very "american" motif is attractive in itself.
