Dear Laurie,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please have a look if there is under the plate or the stand if there is a brand in the wood of the studio.
Thanks
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Laurie,
can you perhaps upload the correspondence.
Thank you very much.
With kind regards,
Georg
I did upload 2 pieces one with the design - and a ty note from his wife - the other is a bill I believe - I will have to wait until I get back home to look at - They all had the New Forge Pa address on them I believe
If you give me an appraisal on this can I please have a refund of my fee
I am asking again for a refund as you have failed to give me an appraisal on this - if i dont hear back from you in 48 hours i will dispute this with the cc company
Dear Laurie,
I am sorry for the late response. I am waiting for the bill which you wanted to attach as an image. I can give also an estimate without these documents.
With kind regards,
Georg
i did not see any request for the bill - not sure what that would have to do with the estimate - We paid $750 for it. Please send me the estimate as I am anxious to list this with someone
Dear Laurie,
Thank you for your patience and I am very sorry for this misunderstanding.
The presented object appears to be a coffee table with the measurements of 27 x 66 x 15 inches. The table was made out of English Oak Burl. It is unmarked but was highly probably made by George Nakashima (1905 - 1990) and the Nakashima Studios. The plate and the counter framework are comparable to ensured and signed pieces of Nakashima.
Artworks of this artist were recently offered and sold on the international and national auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 8.000 to 12.000 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
I can not find any brand in the wood. I am pretty confident it was in Pa - We live in balto and I believe my parents went to the factory - Also all the correspondence was from pa
